Farless comes to Parrott Insurance with more than five years experience in sales and business development. She was previously employed by Harrington Bank in Chapel Hill, N.C. as the assistant vice president, business development coordinator. Farless also worked in sales for Pulte Homes in Raleigh, N.C.

Farless is a licensed insurance agent and has a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She resides in Greensboro, N.C. with her husband Graham E. Farless, D.D.S.

(Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act)

February 17, 2009, the ARRA, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009, was signed into law. Under Title III of this Act, employers and qualified COBRA beneficiaries are affected by the Premium Assistance for COBRA Benefits.

ARRA, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009
- Provides for a government funded COBRA premium assistance equal to 65% of the COBRA premium for certain qualified eligible COBRA beneficiaries up to 9 months.
- The employer pays the full insurance premium to the carrier for each participant. Then the employer can claim 65% of COBRA premium as a payroll tax credit on the next 941 filing with the government.

Who does this affect?
- Any involuntary terminated employee (not due to gross misconduct) from September 1, 2008 through December 31, 2009.
- Terminated employees are eligible if they are currently taking COBRA benefits. The premium assistance will begin March 1, 2009.
- Terminated employees who did not elect COBRA will have a Special Election Opportunity to make this election and have no pre-existing conditions apply.
- All terminated employees beginning September 1, 2008 must be notified by the employer. This even applies to companies with less than 20 employees in North Carolina.
